01I forgot my master passphrase. Can you reset it?
No — and that is by design. TranVault is zero-knowledge: your vault is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your master passphrase, which never leaves your device and is never sent to us. We hold no key that can decrypt your vault, so no one — including us — can recover or reset it. Please keep your master passphrase somewhere safe. It is the only key.
02How do I get started?
- Create an account with your email and a password.
- On first unlock, create a master passphrase — this encrypts your vault and is separate from your account password.
- Optionally turn on Face ID / fingerprint unlock in Settings.
- Add your first item from the Vault tab, generate strong passwords from the Generate tab, and store 2FA codes in the TOTP tab.
03Does my vault sync across devices?
Yes. Your encrypted vault syncs to your other devices when you sign in with the same account and enter your master passphrase. Only ciphertext is ever synced or stored — never your passphrase or any readable secret.
04What can I store?
Logins and passwords, passkeys, TOTP / 2FA codes, SSH keys, API keys and tokens, crypto wallet seeds, card details, Wi-Fi keys and secure notes. Every secret field is sealed with AES-256-GCM on your device.
05How do I remove a device, or manage the device limit?
Open Settings → Devices to see the devices on your account and remove any you no longer use. If you have hit your plan’s device limit, remove an old device there, or email us and we’ll help.
06How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. Deletion is instant and irreversible: it purges your encrypted vault, your account, your device registrations and your entitlement records. If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion at tranvault.transcenda.io/delete-account.
07Is TranVault free? Are there ads?
TranVault is free, with no ads, no analytics and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we do and do not process.
